Everyone has different habits about clothes sleep. Some like to wear full pajamas, baggy t-shirts, or even naked.
Many studies say that being naked can improve sleep quality because when you don’t have any clothes attached to your body, you can fall asleep faster. It might feel good when the weather is really hot.
However, citing Mens Health sleeping naked is not recommended. This is related to dirt that can be directly attached to intimate parts of the body when sleeping.
Surgeon, podcaster and YouTuber Anthony Youn says there is scientific evidence to prove that sleeping naked is not
good for your health and hygiene.
Youn says you should at least wear your underwear to bed if you’re really feeling the heat.
“The average person farts 15 to 25 times a day. It can even happen during sleep,” said Youn.
When you fart, not only gas is released, but really small dirt will also come out. Therefore, at least there must be a cloth that can hold so that the dirt does not come out further and accumulate on your mattress.
“So for the sake of the couple in bed, please sleep in your underwear,” Youn said.
Even so, your reason for wearing at least underwear during sleep is not only related to the dirt that can come out when you fart in the middle of sleep. According to various sources, there are several other reasons for you to sleep in clothes:
1. Not everyone knocks on the door
You can rent a house with friends, or live with family. There are even times when guests who come to think that your room is the door to the toilet.
Imagine when you sleep soundly without any clothes, they suddenly enter your room. Of course you never want this to happen.
2. There is a sudden disaster
You never know what can happen when you sleep. There could be a sudden fire, flood or other disaster that requires you to run outside and save yourself.
Of course you do not want to run without any clothes attached to the body.
3. Sweat on the sheets
When you fall asleep you are still sweating. If you wear clothes, at least the sweat will be absorbed in the clothes.
But when you’re naked, the sweat falls directly onto the sheets and usually leaves nasty stains.
